In a phone call between US President Joe Biden and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the White House has committed to providing Ukraine with a security aid package of $425 million.
The White House has announced a new package for Ukraine, which includes additional air defense capability, air-to-ground munitions, armored vehicles, and critical munitions. This package aims to meet Ukraine’s urgent needs and comes shortly after President Biden’s commitment to providing aid worth an estimated $8 billion.
Zelenskyy expressed his gratitude to Biden on social media, acknowledging the inclusion of “long-range weapons” in the package.
However, the Ukrainian leader did not specifically mention Kyiv’s efforts to gain permission from Western nations to use these weapons against Russia.
Moscow has issued a warning that if Ukraine were to employ Western long-range weapons to attack Russia, it would consider it an act of war against the United States and NATO.
