Poll: UAW members in swing states favor Harris over Trump by 22-point margin

According to a poll conducted by the union, United Auto Workers (UAW) members in the battleground states of Michigan, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, North Carolina, Georgia, Arizona, and Nevada favor presidential candidate Kamala Harris over Donald Trump by a margin of 22 points.

According to the poll, Harris received a significant boost in support among non-college-educated men, a key demographic where she has previously struggled. The data showed that Harris now holds a 14-point lead over Trump in this demographic.

Both Trump and Harris have actively sought the support of the UAW’s members. UAW President Shawn Fain has endorsed Harris, which has provoked Trump’s anger. Last year, during the strike against the US’s major auto companies, Biden stood by the UAW and even became the first president to join a picket line.

The union is actively conducting door-knocking operations in key states to encourage voter turnout for Harris. As per the union, they have successfully engaged with a significant number of 293,000 active and retired union members and their families in these critical election battleground states.

Both Harris and Trump are actively seeking the support of working class individuals and union members. Recently, Trump organized an event at a shuttered McDonald’s location in Pennsylvania, which was carefully planned to appeal to this demographic.

In September 2024, the Teamsters International caused a stir by choosing not to endorse any candidate in the election. Despite the support Harris has received from most labor unions, the Teamsters International claimed that a majority of their members supported Trump.
