Sarah Jessica Parker supports Kamala Harris as a tribute to the independent and childless character Carrie Bradshaw

In the photo, Parker can be seen holding a Harris campaign sign, with a cat perched on her windowsill. The actress expressed her support for Harris and Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, providing a comprehensive list of reasons for her vote.

These reasons include a deep love for her country, a commitment to public schools, a desire for accessible books, the need for sensible gun laws, the importance of a living wage, the value of equal opportunities, a dedication to women’s rights, the preservation of voting rights, and the defense of democracy.

Billie Eilish urges her fans to cast their vote for Kamala Harris, emphasizing the critical importance of this decision by stating, “like your life depends on it, because it does.”

Parker referred to Vance’s controversial statement on Fox News in 2021 as the “cat lady” comment. During the interview, Vance, who was previously Donald Trump’s running mate, expressed his belief that the Democratic party’s future is influenced by individuals without children.

He claimed that the country is effectively governed by a group of childless women who are unhappy with their own lives and choices, and consequently, they seek to spread misery throughout the rest of the nation.

The comment received a lot of backlash from various celebrities, including Jennifer Aniston, who responded to Vance on Instagram in July. “I can’t believe that someone who could potentially become the Vice President of the United States would say something like this,” she wrote.

“All I can say is… Mr. Vance, I hope that your daughter will be blessed with the ability to have children of her own someday. I hope she won’t have to consider IVF as a backup option because you are trying to take that away from her as well.”

In her endorsement of Harris, Taylor Swift also addressed Vance’s comment. The pop star concluded her post by showing her support for the vice president and humorously referring to herself as a “Childless Cat Lady.”

Glenn Close took a stand by sharing an Instagram post featuring herself alongside her cat. In the post, she expressed her support for women who own cats, stating that her character, Eve, from the movie “Hillbilly Elegy,” would have retaliated against anyone who criticized such women by leaving a gruesome mouse head in their bed. Glenn Close, who portrayed Eve in the film adaptation of J.D. Vance’s memoir, made her stance clear.

During an interview with Megyn Kelly in July, Vance explained that his comment about “childless cat ladies” was not intended to criticize individuals who, for various reasons, did not have children. Instead, he aimed to highlight his concerns about the Democratic Party’s stance on family and children.

Actress Sarah Jessica Parker has publicly expressed her support for Vice President Kamala Harris, drawing inspiration from her iconic character Carrie Bradshaw in the process.

In a recent interview, Parker referred to herself as a “childless cat lady,” a term often associated with single women who live alone with their feline companions. By embracing this label, Parker aims to challenge societal norms and celebrate her independence, much like her beloved character on the hit TV series “Sex and the City.”
