Harris’ fundraising page reveals that a portion of donations will go towards recount efforts

A share of the donations given to the Harris Victory Fund, which is a joint fundraising committee authorized by the Harris campaign, the Democratic National Committee, and state Democratic parties, will be allocated towards a recount effort, as stated on its fundraising page.

After securing victory in the 2024 presidential race, former president Donald Trump emerged triumphant in all seven battleground states, garnering a total of 312 electoral votes and assuming control of the White House.

Trump’s margin of victory over Vice President Kamala Harris was particularly close in certain states, with less than one percentage point separating them in Wisconsin and less than two points in Michigan.

According to the fundraising page, the DNC will receive the first $41,300/$15,000 from an individual or a multicandidate committee (PAC). After that, the next $3,300/$5,000 from an individual or PAC will be allocated to Harris for President’s Recount Account.

The details on the timing and leadership of the recount effort are not provided.

In her speech at Howard University the day after Election Day, Harris officially conceded the race to Trump, emphasizing the importance of accepting the election results.

“While I may have conceded this election, I refuse to give up on the fight that has driven this campaign,” she declared. “We will persist in this battle within the voting booth, the courts, and society as a whole. Additionally, we will fight in subtler ways, by embodying kindness and respect in our daily lives, treating one another with decency.”

The Harris campaign was contacted for comment, but they did not respond immediately.

The fundraising page for Harris states that a portion of the donations received will be allocated towards the recount effort.
