Vice President Kamala Harris’ presidential campaign faced criticism for its financial management in the final weeks of the 2024 election cycle.
According to recently released documents, the campaign spent over $2.6 million on private flights in October alone, with additional expenses in September pushing the total flight-related costs to more than $10 million since July.
These findings, reported by Fox News Digital, were detailed in a Federal Election Commission (FEC) filing, which revealed that payments ranged from $3,500 to nearly $1 million per disbursement.
The lion’s share of the flight expenses, approximately $2.2 million, went to Private Jet Services Group, while $430,000 was allocated to the Advanced Aviation Team, a charter flight broker.
The campaign’s private jet spending has become a focal point of scrutiny, especially considering its ongoing financial troubles. With the campaign believed to be $20 million in debt after a $1 billion expenditure, these costs have drawn public attention not just for their size but for environmental concerns.
Private jets are known to emit higher levels of greenhouse gases per passenger than commercial flights, raising questions about the campaign’s commitment to addressing climate change—an issue Harris has described as an “existential threat.”
Despite this, the campaign’s spending on private flights was part of a broader pattern of high-profile expenses, including $3.1 million spent on flights in September, $1 million paid to Oprah Winfrey’s production company for an October rally, and $4 million given to Village Marketing Agency for social media marketing.
As the debt-ridden campaign grapples with these financial decisions, the $2.6 million spent on flights serves as a symbol of the broader challenges Harris’ team faced leading up to the loss in the Nov. 5 election against President-elect Trump.
