Eva Longoria Makes Bold Move Abroad Following Trump’s Re-Election, Cites Political Unrest

Eva Longoria, the actress best known for her role in Desperate Housewives, has announced her decision to leave the United States following the re-election of Donald Trump.

The actress, who had supported Kamala Harris during the election, voiced her concerns about the political landscape in the country, particularly her dismay over the fact that a “convicted criminal who spreads so much hatred” could once again hold the highest office.

This troubling realization, according to Longoria, has deeply affected her. In an interview with Marie Claire, she described the United States under Trump’s leadership as a “terrifying place,” especially if the president follows through on his election promises.

Longoria, who has spent her entire adult life in the U.S., admitted that after Trump’s first victory in 2016, she struggled with depression and began questioning whether her vote even mattered.

She cited the increasing problems in Los Angeles, such as rising homelessness and high taxes, as factors that contributed to her decision to leave the country. “I’ve spent my entire adult life here, but I feel like this chapter of my life is over,” she said.

The actress and her husband, José Bastón, along with their son, plan to divide their time between Mexico and Spain.

These two countries, she believes, offer a safe escape from the political turmoil in the United States. Longoria acknowledged that she is privileged to have the option to leave, expressing sadness and concern for Americans who do not have this choice. She referred to their situation as living in a “dystopian country.”

Longoria’s decision to leave the U.S. serves not only as a personal move but also as a political statement. By taking action, she aims to draw attention to the issues that have worsened during Trump’s presidency. Despite her departure, Longoria continues to be involved in political matters, advocating for what she believes is needed for a better future.
