President-Elect Trump Announces Key Cabinet Picks as Transition Accelerates

President-elect Donald Trump is moving quickly to fill key positions in his incoming administration following his victory over Vice President Kamala Harris in the recent presidential election.

Trump has announced several high-profile appointments, including the controversial selection of Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) for attorney general, Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) for secretary of state, and former Hawaii Rep. Tulsi Gabbard, who recently switched her political affiliation from Democrat to Republican, as director of national intelligence. Trump has also tapped campaign manager Susie Wiles to serve as White House chief of staff and immigration hard-liner Stephen Miller as deputy chief of staff for policy.

On Wednesday, Trump visited the White House for a meeting with President Joe Biden, where he expressed gratitude for a “smooth transition” and discussed the upcoming shift in leadership.
