Cardi B had to step up and defend her decision to support Vice President Kamala Harris, as she faced criticism from political commentator Candace Owens. Owens raised doubts about Cardi’s involvement in a Harris campaign event, suggesting that it may have been driven by financial motives.

While delivering her speech, she maintained a poised demeanor as she read from her iPhone. With a sip of water in hand, she emphasized the significance of the task at hand. In her own words, she expressed, “I am fully aware of the responsibility to be present, to voice my opinions, and to convey a message that has resonated with me for quite some time now…”
Cardi B expressed, “Similar to Kamala Harris, I have personally experienced being the underdog. People have constantly underestimated me, belittled my achievements, and tried to discredit me. It’s a reality for women that we have to work ten times harder and perform at a higher level, yet some still question our journey to success.”
Kamala Harris, also known as Alias, was defeated in the election.
Candace Owens took to Twitter on Thursday to ask Cardi B about her involvement in the Kamala campaign event. In a tweet, Owens inquired if Cardi B had been compensated for her speaking engagement.
Cardi B quickly addressed the situation and responded with her usual style. “I didn’t receive any payment for that, I swear on my life! In fact, I actually paid for my own glam and travel expenses because I wanted to be there,” she stated. Showing her sense of humor, Cardi added, “Come on now, you know I’ll passionately debate about politics with you without charging a dime.”
Apologizing, Owens responded, “I appreciate your response! I actually didn’t come across your name in the report, which is why I decided to reach out on Twitter and ask.”
Cardi B has been the target of criticism from not only the right-leaning political commentator but also from other individuals. Recently, she responded to Elon Musk’s comment about her teleprompter error at Kamala Harris’s campaign event. During the rally in Milwaukee, a technical glitch with the teleprompter caused a delay in Cardi B’s speech, forcing her to resort to using her phone.
“The tech billionaire expressed his disdain for Kamala’s campaign, stating, ‘Another puppet who can’t even speak without being spoon-fed words. The lack of authenticity and genuine empathy is evident.'”
“I am not a puppet,” Cardi B asserted. “I am the daughter of hardworking immigrant parents who sacrificed everything to support me. I am a result of the welfare system, the Section 8 program, and the struggles that come with poverty. My life is a testament to the obstacles one faces when the system is designed to work against them.”
“But you have no idea about that. You don’t know a single thing about the American struggle,” she added.
