Report: MSNBC Staff Members Concerned About Network’s Future

According to the New York Post, there are reports of panic among MSNBC staffers due to the uncertainty surrounding the network’s future.

Rachel Maddow, Chris Jansing, and Katy Tur attended a meeting led by NBCUniversal chairman Mark Lazarus, which reportedly had a tense atmosphere. There were even suggestions of the network changing its name, according to sources confirmed by the New York Post.

Concerned staffers, who were worried about possible layoffs, raised questions about rebranding for the progressive cable news network. This comes as reports indicate that the network might be separated from the reporting resources of NBC News.

According to sources, Lazarus expressed uncertainty about whether the network would alter its identity or move to a different location. According to an insider speaking to the New York Post, there is widespread panic due to the uncertainty surrounding the current situation.

According to another source, there seems to be a lack of awareness among people about the current situation. With the recent election and the approaching holidays, individuals are feeling exhausted and simply trying to navigate through their daily lives.

Comcast Corp, the parent company of NBCUniversal, announced that MSNBC will be joining CNBC, Oxygen, E!, Syfy, and the Golf Channel as part of a newly formed company called SpinCo. Meanwhile, NBC News, NBC Sports, Telemundo, Bravo, and the streaming service Peacock will continue to operate under the NBCUniversal umbrella. The spinoff is anticipated to occur within a year.

“I believe nobody has all the answers,” remarked a source. “It seems like they have a whole year to tackle this challenge.”
