According to a recent poll, the majority of Americans are in favor of President-elect Donald Trump’s handling of the transition.
According to a recent CBS News poll, the majority of Americans, 59 percent, approve of President Trump’s actions in the weeks following his election victory. On the other hand, 41 percent of Americans disapprove of his moves.
The poll took place from November 19-22, coinciding with the withdrawal of former congressman Matt Gaetz as Trump’s potential attorney general. Shortly after Gaetz’s decision, the president-elect, in turn, revealed Pam Bondi, the former Florida Attorney General, as his chosen candidate to head the Department of Justice.
Despite the overall high approval rating for the transition thus far, the public has mixed opinions on a number of Trump’s highest-profile appointees, according to the poll. Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Trump’s nominee to lead the Department of Health and Human Services, is considered a “good choice” by 47 percent of voters, while 34 percent view him as a “not good choice.”
Prospective Secretary of State Marco Rubio receives a passing grade from 44 percent of voters, while 25 percent oppose his selection. As for Pete Hegseth, only 33 percent of voters support him, but 28 percent oppose him, and 39 percent say they “haven’t heard enough about him” to form an opinion.
According to a recent survey, 51 percent of Americans consider it crucial for President Trump to select individuals who are personally loyal to him. This sentiment is particularly strong among Republicans, as a whopping 81 percent of GOP voters believe that Trump’s appointees should demonstrate loyalty to the President.
