A student from a high school in Eufaula, Alabama, has finally reaped the rewards of their hard work.
During her high school years, Trinity Gant had to juggle a lot of responsibilities. She had a lot on her plate.
She exclaimed, “I practically joined every club available. My calendar was always filled with events almost every day of the week.”
Despite the challenges she faced, she managed to earn a remarkable 4.16 grade point average and graduate successfully.
Gant revealed that even though she had exceptional grades, she encountered challenges while being accepted into some of her preferred colleges.
She expressed her disappointment, “It was kind of disheartening,” as she kept receiving rejection and waitlist notices.
Gant revealed that Duke University rejected her, and she was placed on a waitlist for the University of Georgia. Moreover, Howard University did not offer her a full ride, which was quite disappointing.
However, destiny had other plans.
Shortly after receiving discouraging news from other colleges, Gant was pleased to receive an acceptance letter from Harvard University.
Excitement filled her voice as she exclaimed, “I got into Harvard!” over the phone to her mother.
According to Gant, she has received a full scholarship to cover her tuition at Harvard. Additionally, she has been awarded a scholarship of $1.9 million by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.
“She has done everything for us, even though she lives in a single-parent household,” she expressed. “My mother is my biggest motivator. I aspire to make up for every sacrifice she has made for me when I go to school.”
Gant is focusing her studies on the field of human developmental regenerative biology.
