On Thursday, the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office successfully apprehended an escaped inmate who had evaded law enforcement in Carter County, Tennessee. The diligent efforts of the deputies led to the location and arrest of the individual.

On Thursday, the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office successfully tracked down and apprehended an escaped inmate who had previously evaded law enforcement in Carter County, Tennessee. The deputies were able to locate and arrest the inmate without incident.

Billy Fletcher was arrested by deputies at 705 Sulphur Springs Rd. in Greenville, South Carolina on Thursday, July 4 at 8:38 p.m. This happened after the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division received a tip on his whereabouts. The arrest was carried out without any incident.

Deputies have announced that Fletcher is set to be detained at the Georgetown County Detention Center due to a fugitive from justice warrant. He will remain there until Carter County officials arrive to extradite him.

SLED reported that Fletcher, aged 43, fled from the Carter County Detention Center in Tennessee on June 20, 2024.
