Central Wisconsin Battles Persistent Flooding as NWS Issues River Flood Warning

Severe storms have caused flooding in central Wisconsin, leading to warnings being issued for multiple counties. The impact of this flooding is ongoing in Green Bay, WI.

The US National Weather Service Green Bay has issued a River Flood Warning for the Little Wolf River, which is south of the Manawa dam and is expected to last until late Monday morning. It is advised that residents keep themselves informed about the river levels and avoid driving on flooded roads.

On Friday, flash flood warnings were also issued for counties like Waupaca, Outagamie, and southern Brown, as over five inches of rain poured near Manawa, resulting in significant street flooding. This led to evacuations, including a nursing home in the area.

As per the NWS, the central region of Wisconsin and the Fox Valley experienced flooding due to heavy rain on Friday afternoon. Although the rain showers may continue through the evening, no additional rainfall is expected to aggravate the current floods. The residents were urged to move to higher ground, particularly downstream from the Manawa dam and Little Wolf River.

The weather forecast for Saturday brings good news with temperatures ranging between 75-80°F and a possibility of scattered showers during the afternoon. However, the relief will be short-lived as Sunday is expected to bring back widespread rain and thunderstorms, with temperatures hovering around 78°F. Looking ahead to the rest of the week, the weather is predicted to be quite diverse, with more rain expected on Monday and Tuesday, followed by partly cloudy skies in the middle of the week.

As the region continues to grapple with ongoing flooding and the possibility of more rain, authorities are stressing the importance of both caution and preparedness.
