Shooting near Kansas City hardware store leaves one person in critical condition

In Kansas City, a man’s life is hanging in the balance after being shot in broad daylight near a hardware store. Currently, he is in critical condition and fighting for survival.

On Sunday, July 7, at around 3:30 p.m., the Kansas City, Missouri, Police Department received a report of a shooting in the vicinity of Independence and White Ave., near the Westlake Ace Hardware. Emergency crews were promptly dispatched to the location.

Upon arrival, the first responders discovered an adult male who had sustained gunshot wounds. The victim was immediately transported to a nearby medical facility as his injuries were deemed life-threatening.

As of Sunday afternoon, the investigation had caused the closure of the roadway in the area. However, it has now been reopened.

At 9:15 p.m., KCPD reported that the victim’s condition is currently stable but critical. There is no information regarding potential suspects that has been made available at this time.
