Two individuals arrested by Cedar Rapids Police on charges of human trafficking, victim rescued and relocated to a safe place

In Cedar Rapids, Iowa, law enforcement has made progress in the fight against human trafficking by arresting and charging two individuals with human trafficking for coercing a young female into prostitution.

On Thursday, July 11, the Cedar Rapids Police Department apprehended Tana Torres, 49, of Cedar Rapids, and Jarod Anderson, 34, of Hiawatha.

In May, a juvenile female who had been reported missing in another jurisdiction was found in Cedar Rapids, leading to an ongoing investigation that has resulted in these arrests.

The authorities have filed charges of human trafficking and conspiracy to commit a forcible felony against both Torres and Anderson.

Torres faced charges for engaging in second-degree sexual abuse and prostitution, while Anderson was charged with third-degree sexual abuse.

They have both been incarcerated at the Linn County Jail.
