Woman shares her story after her brother is attacked by a co-worker at Applebee’s

Around 3 p.m. on Oct. 1, officers were alerted to a stabbing incident at the Applebee’s restaurant located on Military Road in the town of Niagara. According to the police, Sam Keesler, a 34-year-old employee from Niagara Falls, randomly attacked another employee with a knife in the kitchen.

Gregory Moore, the victim, has been identified by his family to NewsNation affiliate WIVB. According to Moore’s sister, Kimmissie Moore, there were no conflicts or issues between the two men.

According to Moore, they would often take cigarette breaks together and there was never any animosity between them. They never had any conflicts or disagreements.

Kimmissie Moore expressed her shock and disbelief at the unfortunate incident that occurred to her brother. She strongly believes that the management at Applebee’s failed to handle the situation appropriately.

“He was pleading for assistance,” Moore recounted. “He earnestly implored the manager on duty to come to his aid, but his pleas fell on deaf ears.”

Moore expressed hope and faith that her brother would recover from his injuries with God’s grace. However, she questioned the severity of the punishment given to the perpetrator, wondering how they could escape with only a slap on the hand.

According to Niagara County Sheriff Michael Filicetti, the decision to charge Gregory Moore with second-degree assault was made due to the severity of the injuries sustained by the victim.

Sheriff Filicetti also mentioned that Moore is expected to make a recovery. However, he did not rule out the possibility of additional charges being filed in the future.
