According to a recent New York Times poll, former President Trump is currently leading the presidential race in Florida and Texas, with just one month left until Election Day.
According to a survey conducted by the Times and Siena College, President Trump is currently leading in his home state of Florida, with a 13 percentage point advantage over Vice President Harris. Additionally, the former president is also ahead of Harris by 6 percentage points in Texas.
Some Democrats may have believed that Kamala Harris’s campaign would generate enough enthusiasm to make Florida and Texas competitive states. However, the findings of a recent study suggest otherwise.
Florida, once seen as a battleground state, swung in favor of Trump during both the 2016 and 2020 elections. In recent years, it has leaned more towards the Republican party. On the other hand, Texas has remained steadfast in its support for Republican presidential candidates since 1976.
According to the same poll, Harris currently holds a 3-percentage point lead over Trump on a national level.
According to The Hill/Decision Desk HQ’s (DDHQ) polling index, the Republican nominee is currently leading in the Sunshine State with a 2.8-point advantage, with 49.7 percent of the support compared to Harris’s 46.9 percent. In Texas, Trump is enjoying a nearly 6-point lead, with 51.6 percent of the support while the vice president trails behind with 45.9 percent.
Polls in the final weeks of the campaign have indicated that the Senate races in both Florida and Texas are becoming more competitive.
The latest polls in the Texas Senate race indicate that Senator Ted Cruz (R) is currently leading his Democratic challenger, Representative Colin Allred, by a margin of just over 3 points. Specifically, Cruz holds a 48.1 percent to 45 percent advantage.
Meanwhile, in the Senate race in Florida, incumbent Senator Rick Scott (R) is ahead of his challenger, former Representative Debbie Mucarsel-Powell, by a margin of 2.7 points. Scott currently enjoys a 45.7 percent to 43 percent lead in the polls.
