North Korea has issued a dire warning to the West regarding its continuous backing of Ukraine. The country has cautioned that this support could potentially ignite a devastating conflict with Russia.
“The Anglo-Saxons are planning to provoke a direct armed conflict between the European continent and Russia, which is an act of self-destruction,” emphasized North Korea’s Foreign Ministry on Monday, echoing the sentiments expressed by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.
On November 4, Lavrov spoke at the Inventing the Future International Symposium in Moscow. The symposium aimed to showcase the potential for innovation, culture, ecology, healthcare, diplomacy, and content development in Russia.
In his keynote address, Lavrov expressed his disapproval of the Western sanctions imposed on Russia and reprimanded the U.S. and its allies for backing Ukraine.
According to Lavrov, when economic pressure is not effective in influencing independent countries, the Western nations, particularly the United States, often resort to threats, blackmail, and even military action.
He continued by stating that the Anglo-Saxons have devised a plan to conquer our country, using the Kiev regime as their proxy. He compared this strategy to Hitler’s attempts during World War II, where he sought to gather most European countries under the Nazi banners.
Lavrov also expressed his thoughts on the possibility of Kyiv using Western weaponry to launch attacks into Russia’s territory. He stated that such actions would greatly diminish the likelihood of any party involved having a role in the future multipolar landscape.
European governments and the U.S. have thus far refused Kyiv’s request to utilize their weapons for long-range strikes into Russia. Moscow has made it clear that such a decision would be perceived as their direct involvement in the conflict. This has raised concerns about potential retaliatory action against them.
On Sunday, anonymous sources from the UK government revealed to The Telegraph that UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer and French President Emmanuel Macron are seeking to persuade US President Joe Biden to reconsider the utilization of their Storm Shadow missiles for long-range attacks.
The U.K. Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office responded to queries from Newsweek regarding the matter, stating that the topic was raised during a meeting on Monday.
In response to a question about the article, the Prime Minister’s deputy official spokesperson affirmed that the U.K.’s stance on Storm Shadow remains unchanged.
Furthermore, the spokesperson emphasized that the U.K. maintains constant communication with Ukraine to discuss the assistance they can offer in this regard.
The French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs has been contacted by Newsweek for comment. According to a statement from North Korea’s Foreign Ministry, Lavrov revealed that the war initiated by the West, particularly the Anglo-Americans, in Europe against Russia does not concern them.
Furthermore, the statement mentioned that the Americans are intentionally extending NATO’s military presence into the Pacific region, with the clear objective of exerting more pressure on China, North Korea, and Russia.
Russia and North Korea have been strengthening their military partnership over the past 1,000 days, as the full-scale invasion of Ukraine by Russia looms. This partnership has included the transfer of missiles and other military equipment between the two countries.
Recent reports indicate that North Korean soldiers have been engaged in combat in Ukraine and Russia, fighting alongside the armed forces of Moscow.
On Tuesday, the North Korean government outlet, Naenara, announced that Kim Jong Un has officially approved his country’s portion of the Treaty on Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. This treaty was signed by Kim Jong Un and Russian President Vladimir Putin during the latter’s visit to Pyongyang in June.
The treaty mandates that North Korea and Russia must utilize their full resources to promptly offer military assistance in the event of an attack on either country. Additionally, it commits both nations to collaboratively strive for a “fair and multipolar new world order” by jointly focusing on areas like nuclear energy, trade, and economic development.
