The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have invested a staggering $4.7M in acquiring one of the 300 upcoming properties at the CostaTerra Golf and Ocean Club. Nestled near the charming town of Melides, this exclusive club spans across 722 acres and offers the couple ample seclusion, a matter they have expressed great enthusiasm for. Situated approximately 81 miles south of Lisbon, the location ensures utmost privacy for the royal pair.
According to certain reports, the couple bought the house in Portugal to be in proximity to Princess Eugenie and her husband, Jack Brooksbank, who also own a property in the same club. However, more recent reports suggest a different reason behind their purchase.
Life In The US Wasn’t What They Thought It’d Be
According to Grant Harrold, the former personal butler of King Charles, Meghan and Harry bought a vacation home in Portugal because they are feeling weary of their new life in the United States. He believes that this purchase indicates their gradual return to the UK.
“Moving away and returning is a common occurrence for many people in the US,” he explained. “Therefore, Harry and Meghan’s decision to leave the US for Europe is not out of the ordinary.”
He explained, “Perhaps they didn’t find living in the States as fulfilling as they had anticipated, which could explain why they are now seemingly considering a return to the UK.” However, it is likely that they will have to make amends with the royal family before being fully accepted back into the fold.
